Who are we

Save Marlow’s Greenbelt is the name of the campaign group that was established by resident volunteers in 2021 to prevent the destruction of our local greenbelt by inappropriate development.

We believe that natural green spaces make an important contribution to our quality of life, protect wildlife and define the character of this area. The Greenbelt must be preserved for future generations because once it’s gone, it’s gone forever. We are campaigning against the Marlow Film Studio Project and other possible greenbelt developments, whose sole interest is to make money at our expense.

Initially founded as volunteer group, we incorporated on 1 March 2023 to become Save Marlow’s Greenbelt Limited – a company limited by guarantee, company number 14697502, registered office address: Corners Cottage, Westhorpe, Marlow, Buckinghamshire, England, SL7 3RQ.

Our Directors (Trustees) and Company Guarantors are, in alphabetical order: Sam Kershaw (co-Chair), David Porter (Treasurer), Richard Sherwin (co-Chair), & Oyku Tevik (Company Secretary).

We thank you for your support.

For the avoidance of doubt, Save Marlow’s Greenbelt Limited is not a charity, and consequently not registered with the Charities Commission under the Charities Acts. This is not for the want of trying, but apparently a volunteer campaign group such as ours is it not sufficiently charitable to meet the Charity Commission’s stringent criteria. Our applications to register were declined.
